Overview Red Rocks is the north west tip of the Wirral Peninsula. The furthest point is Bird Rock which gets cut off by the tide and at such times is a popular haunt for roosting waders. Just south of Red Rocks is the Red Rocks Marsh Local Nature Reserve maintained by Cheshire Wildlife Trust. This reserve covers 10 acres and comprises of sand dunes, reed beds and marsh. Access Park
at West Kirby or Hoylake and proceed on foot along the foreshore. Marked
paths allow access to the reserve. Birds Bird species are similar to those encountered at Hilbre Island. Large and varied numbers of waders, excellent sea watching and varied passerines during spring migration. 200 species have been recorded with 170 species in a single year. Snow Bunting are almost annual, found on the beach.
